Summer holiday baking
I have a 3 (going on 13) year old and a 7 year old, and both love to help me in the kitchen. Licking the bowl is always their favourite activity (please note this is when working on home baking projects, not professional ones!).
This week we were heading off to an afternoon garden party as a family and decided to take some kransekake sticks with us. They're always a big hit and on this occasion they disappeared pretty quickly. The dark chocolate works so well with the almonds - a match made in heaven!
Both kids love kransekake and are keen to follow in my footsteps when they grow up - baking for family celebrations. One rainy day in the summer holidays we got to work on baking a kransekake for daddy's birthday. I showed them how to ice the kransekake with our 7 year old filming it for future reference! Visit our Instagram page to check out our efforts!
During July we went to Norway for a week to a) have a holiday and b) stock up on some supplies (new rings and potato flour being a priority!). We had a lovely time in the unusually warm weather and as always came home rested and happy. We go to the Western area, to a place called Tresfjord, and it's blissfuly remote. If you've never been to Norway you must add it to your bucket list!
