Keeping it in the family!
This photo shows the kransekake my Aunt had for her wedding in 1969. She bought it for £20 from a baker in Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge, London as it was the only place making them in the UK back then. Given that her rent was £3 a week and she had £5 a week housekeeping, that cake was very expensive!
My grandmother said that she knew the marriage wouldn’t work because the bridal couple fell off the top of the kransekake in the kitchen. Sadly she was right!
